When the Nobel Peace Prize recognized the efforts of the World Food Programme (WFP) in 2020, it brought much-needed attention to hunger, food insecurity and food waste issues. The COVID-19 pandemic contributed to a significant increase in the number of hunger victims around the world. Yet, the amount of food wasted can feed four times the 690 million people who are hungry today. There is an urgent need to reduce farm waste and improve the supply chain system, and this four-part series from YPO on the global food crisis is bringing together business leaders and sectoral experts to open up conversations that can further public-private partnerships as well as the development of private sector led solutions around issues of #hunger, #foodinsecurity and #foodwaste.
