United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization hosted the Ayadee Foundation

On September 24 the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization hosted the Ayadee Foundation to discuss how to use hackathons as a new tool to find innovative solutions. Presenters included Ayadee Foundation Founder Peter Johnson, Ayadee Foundation mentor and advisory board member Melissa Ackerman of the Produce Alliance, and hackathon participant and Ayadee Foundation incubator participant John Poor of Homni Supply, A goal of this event was to introduce FAO staff to the use of hackathons as a tool for innovation, as the public sectors use of hackathons is limited, with governments hosting 2.6% of hackathons globally and NGOs hosting 7.9% of hackathons.
